Frankrijk: de vervangende baxter voor Wallonië?
De Standaard beweert dat de helft van de Walen voor aanhechting bij Frankrijk is. Dat klopt helemaal niet, omdat een zinsdeel ontbreekt: .. ALS België zou uiteenvallen. De enquête van Le Soir is wel weer eens een aanleiding om op de Vlamingen af te geven. Ze is de gelegenheid voor een "plechtige waarschuwing aan de Vlaamse politici die ons willen doen dansen zoals zij fluiten. De Walen zullen niet aanvaarden dat men hun het leven nog 'onmogelijker' maakt." Kort samengevat: inbinden dus uw eisen, of we zijn weg. En als dat nu eens niet meer zou pakken?
De Standaard bericht op woensdag 30 juli '08 in een artikel onder de titel "Helft Walen pro aanhechting bij Frankrijk" het volgende: "Uit de enquête, die Le Soir samen uitvoerde met de Franse krant La Voix du Nord, blijkt dat 49 procent van de Walen wel iets in de aanhechting van Wallonië bij Frankrijk ziet. 45 procent is tegenstander. Het resultaat is des te opmerkelijker omdat een onderzoek van de UCL begin dit jaar nog uitwees dat maar 29 procent voorstander was van een aanhechting. Ook de Fransen zelf zijn voor die idee gewonnen: 60 procent van hen ziet wel iets in een gebiedsuitbreiding met Wallonië. Er mogen dan wel veel voorstanders zijn voor een aanhechting bij Frankrijk, maar volgens een meerderheid van de Walen zal het zover nooit komen. 59 procent denkt dat België zal blijven bestaan, amper 23 procent gelooft het tegenovergestelde. 18 procent twijfelt." 'De helft van de Walen pro aanhechting bij Frankrijk' klopt dus helemaal niet, want er ontbreekt de essentiële toevoeging, namelijk de preliminaire dat 49% van de Walen iets ziet in de aanhechting van Wallonië bij Frankrijk, ALS België uiteenvalt.
Le Soir was al even tendentieus, want het kopte over 2 dikke lijnen als hoofdtitel in zijn uitgave van dinsdag 29 juli "UN WALLON SUR DEUX SE VERRAIT BIEN FRANCAIS"

Ik kan leven met je tekst - en vele andere van uw hand - maar in de Le Soir titel die je citeert zit voor mij perfect de nuance die uit het artikel blijkt: "se verait bien" interpreteer ik niet als "ziet zich", maar als een veronderstelling, als "zou zich best kunnen zien als...". Niet?

akkoord dat 'se verait bien' een 'conditionnel' is - waarvan de nuance al verdwijnt bij DS, en het 'Helft Walen pro aanhechting bij Frankrijk' wordt - die echter pas op blz 2 in Le Soir ingevuld wordt. Le Soir had bv. even goed een kleiner boven- of ondertiteltje op blz 1 kunnen zetten, zoals ze heel vaak doen, (soms zelfs twee extra tekstlijnen op de volle breedte, zoals vandaag 01.08), met die verduidelijking: 'si le pays éclate', en dan daarbij 'un Wallon sur deux se verrait bien français'. Dat ze het niet zo doen ondersteunt mijn stelling dat Le Soir hiermee alleen de bedoeling heeft de Franstalige politici aan te sporen niet toe te geven aan de Vlamingen. Zoals ze onlangs het 'corridortje' publiceerden, juist om te zeggen: hou u niet met dergelijke futiliteiten bezig, blijf minstens de aanhechting van de 6 faciliteiten eisen. Zijn de Belgen geen wereldspecialisten in drieband? In elk geval zeker de ploeg van Le Soir...
ik denk dat de Soir vooral wil verkopen. :-)
